Dorset High Sheriff visits The Rendezvous

News

What a pleasure to welcome our Dorset High Sheriff, Dr Helena Conibear DL, to the Rendezvous on 25th September.

Dr Conibear, and her walking delegation, were on the 4th stage of her charity County Lines Walk – meeting at the church in Stourton Caundle and walking into Sherborne accompanied by the Sherborne Town Mayor, Councillor Suresh Jeganathan.

The High Sheriff is walking over 200 miles to shine a light on county lines exploitation and raising funds for local youth initiatives along the way.

After lunch provided by Sherborne Community Kitchen, the High Sheriff met representatives from the town including Sherborne Town Council, Tinney’s Youth Club, Sherborne Police, Sherborne Abbey Primary School and others at The Rendezvous. CEO Helen Da Silva Wood introduced everyone to the work we do for young people at the centre and in the wider community.

From there the Mayor of Sherborne, alongside the Dorset High Sheriff, officially opened the new Ninja Warrior Trail at Blackberry Lane Adventure and Skate Park.

Later, pupils from Sherborne Abbey Primary School waved off the High Sheriff and her delegation as they continued the walk on to Thornford.
